I Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; KJV
According to
this verse in the King James version of the Bible, we are to be peculiar
people. Words change
their meaning over time. At the time of the writing of the King James version of Bible
peculiar meant people who were different.
Today
peculiar people are strange, weird, or“freakish.”
So, if we
take today’s meaning of this scripture I should do, wear, or say things to make me seem freakish. My husband said“You don’t need anything special to show you are peculiar.” I think I was insulted but I ignored it!!
What the
Greek word really means is far from how I look or what I say or do.
The word peculiar is
translated from two Greek words, “Around” and “to be” It is the picture of a
big circle that represents God. Inside the circle are little dots that represent everyone who is a Christian.
We are a
peculiar people because we are God’s people. He surrounds us and protects us.
Nothing can get to us unless God allows it.
As we say
today, “God’s got my back.” What a wonderful thought that we are in the circle
of God’s protection!
Happy I am in the circle of God's care, Gloria

I like the new look of your blog, except the font was super big. But I enjoyed reading the tabs about you and your books. It's calming to know God surrounds us.
