The Original Is Always Better

It's 3:55 am and I'm sitting in front of my computer instead of in bed. It may be because I went to bed around 8:30 to read. I'm trying to read some of the classics. I read The Lost World (OK), War of the Worlds (found it boring but did finish it), and now I am reading Little Women.

I hadn't read too long before I found my IPad dropping down because I had dozed off. Yes, I'm an IPad girl now but I still love REAL books. Since I wasn't remembering what I had read between each IPad dropping, it seemed the smart thing to do was give up and turn out the light.

I have watched every movie version of Little Women that has come out and loved them all. But, I have never read the book. I wonder why? Was it easier to sit and watch the story unfold before me? Was I just too lazy to take the time to read the "original"? Maybe so.

Christianity can be like that. We go to church, we sing, we teach, we get involved in all kinds of "religious things" but don't spend time with the founder of it all, the "original", God.

I think one of the greatest tools the devil uses on Christians is to get them so involved with church activities  they don't have time to spend with God. Sad that we allow that to happen, isn't it? Like me finally deciding to read the book, we can decide to spend time with God. Why not try it. I think you will find it to be a real blessing!

Hoping I'm faithful to spend more time with God than with religious activities, Gloria

Sad, but true, how we can get so involved in church activities that we don't have personal time with God!
