I've turned into a Betty Crocker! Or maybe a Suzy Homemaker. No, not that title. That would mean I loved cleaning house. That's not gonna happen in my lifetime!!
I have started making bread. Of course, I do have a little help from the bread maker. But, I take it out and let it rise instead of cooking it in the machine. Machines make weird bread slices. How can you make a sandwich with round bread?!
I think what started it all was when I went to the store and the bread we use cost 4.99! Who would have thought a bread with added fibre would ever cost that much?
I've even started cooking larger amounts of food and freezing portions for future meals. What is happening to me?!!! I haven't been this domestic in twenty (OK, maybe thirty) years.
I don't know if this is a fad or if I'll still be doing this six months from now. I'll let you know in a few months, if I can remember, that is.
The things I am doing are good for us (less fast food) and also more economical. I'm helping our health and saving money. Not a bad combo, right?
I know a spiritual combo that's will make your spiritual life more healthy. It's reading the Bible and praying. Think about it. How much do you read your Bible compared to the other things you read? How much time do you spend praying for others and yourself?
I started reading through the New Testament like it was a novel. I just read and read. When I finish it, I will read it again . . . and again . . . and again. My goal is to saturate my mind with the words, to read them so much that I can almost speak them without having to read them.
I'm hoping this is not a fad. My spiritual health is of more valuable than my physical health. One is temporary, one is eternal.
Hoping you join me in saturating your life with the Word of God, Gloria
