It's going to be hot in this area for the entire week. I guess that means l'll be doing a lot of sitting around. As some of you know, I hate hot weather. Takes all the energy out of me.
How my husband can be energized by the heat is beyond me. He seems to thrive on it. So, I guess he's going to do a lot of thriving the next few days!
I'm not going to complain. Well, maybe just a little. But, I'll try and rejoice that my husband is enjoying the weather.
Do you think that's what the scripture means when it says to look out for the interest of others more than ourselves? Doing simple things in life can show we are living out that truth. Such as, making waffles instead of pancakes because you know your husband likes them best. Or, buying the kind of ice cream he loves. Maybe fixing chicken when you would prefer steak. Or going where the kids want to instead of where you prefer. These are simple ways to show our love to someone and our obedience to the scriptures.
Hoping I'm living out the scripture, Gloria

It seems like we, as women, are always looking out for the interest of others more than ourselves. But, I don't mind, I'm used to it.
Janet, that's so true. Do you think maybe God made that part of our "DNA" since he planned for us to be the nurturers in the family? I seldom see women who do not have that trait.

Too funny! I remember when Dave and I were first married. I frequently bought sausage links for breakfast instead of bacon, which I preferred. I am not a sausage fan. He always ate it without a comment. Turns out HE didn't like it either...he thought I did! Haven't bought it since!
I think you are right about these simple ways to show our love and obedience. Face it...if there are two pieces of whatever and three people...it will always be the Mom that SAYS she doesn't want it, is full, or something to that effect. Maybe women are the more people-pleasers.
Gloria,

Gayle, that was hilarious! And,yes, we moms are made that way.

Gloria,
Kimberly is great. I live in the next town from her so we get to meet face to face.
