My apologies to all your poets but this is the best I could do on short notice.
Twas the day after grand kids
Had gone to their house
Not a creature was stirring
Not even a mouse
A very tired Grandma was
stretched prone on the bed
Quick! Look very close
Do you think she is dead?
She'll soon be all right
I know that it's true
A week in the bed
And she'll be just like new!
Okay, maybe not a week. How about three days?
I have enjoyed my grand kids soooo much. The poem aside, it has not been a stressful time. I did sleep later this morning. I think I can blame that on their visit!
I thank God for the time I had with my children. It was not always easy but it was such a blessing to have them in my life. Now he has blessed me with grandchildren. The great joy of them is you can keep them until you're exhausted and then send them home. You didn't have that option with your kids!
What can you be thankful for today? Just one thing. Doesn't have to be a big thing. Stop right now and thank God. Verbalizing your thankfulness to God can lift your spirits and help you to see how truly blessed you are, even in the middle of difficult circumstances. And, you may find, like me, you can't stop at one!
A tired but thankful grandmother, Gloria
