Savoring The Season

Well, life for me is about to change . . . at least for a few days. Two of my grandchildren will be here for a few days.

How did I do it when my children were young? I could dangle a baby on my hip, grab my escaping son with my free hand, stir up a batch of brownies with a spoon between my teeth and still look good when my hubby came home. Okay, the brownies thing may have been a bit over the top. But, you should have seen what I could do with my toes! And, when my husband came home, I probably looked like I do when my grandchildren leave from their visit . . . harried and exhausted!

When my children were young I worked to see they had good memories of their childhood. I'm trying to do the same with my grandchildren. The only problem is, I don't have as much energy to do it. I just wish they were still young enough to take naps so I could recoup!

Just like God made seasons in the weather, he makes seasons in our lives. Some of you may still be in the dangling baby on hip stage. Others have meandered down life's path a little more and are in the teenage children stage. Still others are in the grandchildren season as I am. Each stage is to be treasured.

Don't let the stresses of each day make you fail to savor the season God has given you. It will never come again.

Going to savor the time with my grandchildren and then rest for two days, Gloria
