A Home Prepared For Me
We built a patio cover on the back of our house and a couple of birds have built a nest in the eaves. I'm trying not to disturb them so I haven't gotten a ladder and looked for eggs.
The birds worked hard to prepare the nest. Day after day they brought a twig, a stick, a feather and placed them on the ledge. They now have a roomy, secure home prepared. I have admired their diligence in preparing for the arrival of their children.
Just as the birds have prepared a home for their children, God has prepared a home for his children. It's called heaven. He's there awaiting our arrival.
Someday soon the baby birds will break their shells and see their parents for the first time. Someday we will break this shell of flesh, leave this earth and see God, our Father and Jesus, our Savior for the first time. As the old hymn says, "What a day, glorious day that will be."
Thankful a place is being prepared for me in heaven, Gloria
