I'm having computer problems this morning so I hope to get this done before my computer crashes. If you don't hear from me for a few days, you will know what happened.
I'm on my way to look at computers this morning. I hate spending money on this kind of thing! If I was going to buy new furniture or one of those plastic rail fences for my back yard, I would be delighted to spend the money. I'll try to make this a positive experience by reminding myself the computer will cost less than the other things I mentioned. Forget that I can't afford the furniture or fence!
Do you find it hard to be totally content with what you have? It doesn't have to be big things like my furniture and rail fence. It can be a new pot for the kitchen. A new pair of tennis shoes. A Swiffer instead of a mop.
Look around right where you are. Even in the most austere surroundings, you possess more than most peoples of the world.
I'm not into guilt trips here. I'm just reminding us that we have so much for which to be thankful. What I have is so much a part of my daily existence, I sometimes forget how very blessed I am!
If it were not for God's goodness to us, we could be out in a rice field somewhere or digging in trash cans to find food for our children or hiding in a jungle somewhere for fear of retaliation for being Christians.
I don't know why God chose to place us here and them there. My heart goes out to them. At times I weep for them.
I know God does all things well. He has placed us here and them there for a purpose. Let's not forget to thank God and use what we have wisely.
Realizing, at least this morning, how blessed I am and thanking God for those blessings, Gloria
