Who would have thought you could grow beautiful roses in the desert? I know it's true because I look out my office window and see rose bushes so laden with pink blooms that I fear the limbs are going to break.
How could they bear the intense heat of desert summers and the bleak frigid winters and still survive? Not only survive but thrive and add beauty to the landscape. I don't have an answer. I just know they do.
Who would have thought a Christian could grow and thrive in the intense heat of trials? Who would have thought they could endure the bleak suffering and not only survive but grow into beautiful, mature Christians that add fragrance and beauty to the world in which they live?
I know the answer to that! It's because God allows the intense trials and bleak suffering to make us turn to him. It makes us grow, become stronger in our faith, trust God more. As a result, we are able to confirm to others that God can be trusted, even in the difficult.
Some of you may be in a period of intense trials. Be encouraged! God will leave you there only as long as it takes to make you more beautiful, more godly, more like Jesus. After the heat of summer and the frigidness of winter, like my rose bush, you will be laden with a beauty and fragrance that will bring joy to God and those around you.
