Well, I used the Bowflex this morning. Hopefully, I 'll see some results soon.
I've heard tell that you should look in the mirror and see the thin, beautiful you that you really are. Well, I'm looking really hard but I haven't seen her yet. She's hiding somewhere behind the bulges, wrinkles and flab. But, I'll keep looking. Surely she's in there somewhere. I just hope they haven't lied to me. If so, I've wasted a lot of time staring into a mirror!
I've also heard the statement that beauty is only skin deep. If they're right, I KNOW I'm wasting my time! This skin's beauty, whatever there was of it, has been gone for some time.
So, which one do I believe? I think I'll go to the scriptures and see what God says. Ah, here it is.
1 Peter 3:3-5
Don't be concerned about the outward beauty that depends on jewelry, or beautiful clothes, or hair arrangement. 4 Be beautiful inside, in your hearts, with the lasting charm of a gentle and quiet spirit that is so precious to God.
I guess I'm not to worry so much about what I look like on the outside (Do you think they'd mind if I wore my sweats to church on Sunday?). So, using the scripture as our guide, I guess we should concentrate on inward beauty.
Tomorrow, let's talk more about this. For today, concentrate on that inward beauty!
Thankful inward beauty is the priority, Gloria
