A Consistent God

Well, I made it back this morning. Don't know exactly what I did but whatever it was, it worked!

We're in a large RV park in Goodyear, AZ. The air is thick with the smell of orange blossoms. The weather is unusually warm. I'm thankful for that! I'm hoping to de-stress some while I'm here.

As I was thinking about how stressful it is living in the world of today, the Bible verse about there being nothing knew under the sun came to mind. Bible characters had stress just like we do.

Wouldn't you say traveling along, waiting for God to tell you when to stop and sacrifice your beloved son might have been a little stressful?

Or how about David who spent years running from King Saul who was determined to kill him.

Then there was Queen Esther. She had to face her husband, the king, when she knew she could die for doing so, since you could only approach him when invited.

Yes, through the generations there have been stressful situations. Abraham, David and Esther show us things really haven't changed much. Their stories also tell us that we have a God who hasn't changed. It is a comforting thought to know that just like he was there guiding their lives, he is guiding ours.

Thankful for such a consistent God, Gloria
