Lifting The Lid

Do you remember the excitement you had as a child when you lifted the lid from a package or gift? The anticipation was almost too much to bear. What was inside? Would you like it? The anticipation was almost as much fun as the actual gift...almost.

I've been studying for the Bible study class I teach on Sundays. I dig into the Greek, the original language of the New Testament. As I was studying, I came across a jewel that graphically explains the scripture verse. It said, I pray that "the Father of glory may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him."

As I studied the word revelation, the Greek meant "to lift the lid or cover." Isn't that graphic?

Today, I pray for all who read this blog that the Father of glory may "lift the lid" so that he will be revealed to you in a more powerful way. Having the lid lifted here will bring a far superior gift than any other present you have ever received!

Glad God lifts the lid so we can know him, Gloria
