Symbols

I received a catalog from a Christian publisher. There are all kinds of things for a person to purchase. Crosses, scripture bracelets, religious music CD's, Jesus plaques, even pens with scripture printed on them.

It would seem the company is trying to profit off a person's faith...it would seem that way. I rather think it is a blessing that they provide these things for us to purchase.

Sometimes I have passed through one of my rooms and read from a plaque on the wall, "This is the day the Lord hath made. I will rejoice in it." Since I was NOT in a rejoicing mood, it was just what I needed!

Times when I wore a cross someone gave me, I was reminded of the great sacrifice Jesus gave to purchase my salvation.

I have listened to music that retold the story of Jesus birth and been made to praise and thank God for sending his Son.

Do you have religious "symbols" around your home? It might be a good idea to purchase some. Maybe you'll be like me. One day you'll need the encouragement one of those symbols can provide.
