What You See Is Not Always What You Get

You just can't tell about people on the outside, can you? They may look and act one way and be totally different on the inside. But, eventually what a person is on the inside will come out.

The Bible says, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." No matter what we do on the outside, the important thing is what we are on the inside. That's what God looks at. He knows if our thoughts are pure, if our motives are right, if we really love, if we really care.

Yesterday I learned my sister-in-law is not what she looks like on the outside. She is Wayne's oldest sister, the second of nine children. She has an older body with the stamina of a much younger person. Just ask me. I tried keeping up with her while she shopped the malls. And I have the sore feet to prove it! What she really was came out. A healthy woman who has taken care of herself.

Eventually what is inside will manifest itself outwardly. Will someone today see what we really are inside, in our heart? We may try to hide it but, like an active volcano, it will eventually spew to the top. If we allow God to control our thoughts, emotions and feelings, that will come to the surface. If we don't, that will also come to the surface.

Do a check today. What kind of feelings, emotions, thoughts are harboring inside? If they are not right, let God change your heart!

Doing my checklist, Gloria
