A True Friend

Have you ever been betrayed by someone you thought was your friend? I have. It hurts.

No one likes to have someone they assumed was a true friend turn against them. But, it's a fact of life. You can handle that kind of situation two ways.

1. Go inside a shell and refuse to open yourself up to friendship for fear of being hurt again.

2. Take the risk of developing other friendships even though you know you could get hurt again.

God made us for relationships. If we refuse to reach out to others for fear of being hurt, we miss so much of what life is all about. Think of all the truly wonderful friends you would miss out on by refusing to allow some to hurt you. Take the risk!

One thing is for sure. Jesus will never betray you. He will love you no matter what you do, say or feel. What proof do I have for that statement? He died for us. I think that is sufficient evidence, don't you?

Thankful for a friend who will never desert me, Gloria
