It looks and feels like rain here. Of course, in the high desert that means nothing.
I love rain. Looking out the window as rain falls lifts my spirit, invigorates me and makes me want to sing. Since I live in the desert I don't sing a lot! My advice. If you like rain, don't live in the high desert. After all, there is a reason it's called a desert!
There was an old saying, "When it rains, it pours." It referred to one trouble after another coming into your life. That kind of rain I'm not particularly fond of! Yet, it seems to come more than the rain I like. It's hard for us to realize that both kinds of rain are directed by God.
God never allows anything into our lives that is not for the purpose of maturing us, making us more like his Son and getting us ready for our permanent home in heaven. He allows rain because he loves us. It is sometimes hard to believe that when the rain is pouring into your life and you feel you are going to drown.
Take heart! You have a Father who loves you more than you can imagine. He allows rain, not to harm you but to make you better. And always remember, he's standing in the rain with you!
Glad God is there in the rain, Gloria
