Dastardly Distractions

I got up early this morning because I had an idea rolling around in my head for an article. I know me. If I don't react quickly, the thoughts will fly away, never to be heard from again.

I went to my computer with such good intentions. After all, no one gets up at 4:30 unless they are compelled to do so!

I sat down at my computer and decided to take just a minute to check a few emails. Forty-five minutes later I found myself on You Tube laughing at a Christian comedian. I know. A long way from writing a simple idea down isn't it. Of course, the idea is now gone into Never, Never Land (I'll never, never, see it again!).

It made me think about other areas of my life. I start out with good intentions. I'll write that letter. I'll call that friend. I'll drop by and visit that sick lady from church. All good intentions that never get done because I allow distractions to get in my way. Too bad...for them and me.

Hoping to decrease the distractions, Gloria

Now, wait a second...I've started getting up at 4 am! But I am enjoying some very quiet time, just me and the Lord.

I've decided that the computer & emails are the greatest time robbers. Maybe if I turn it on later, or turn it off sooner I will get more accomplished and maybe some of my good intentions will get done.

Gayle,
My computer is sometimes a good friend, sometimes by worst enemy!
