Why I Blog

There are millions of blogs on the Internet. You can find one for just about any interest you might have. Why is that?

Is it because we have become detached from the world around us and the Internet gives us an opportunity to connect with other people?

Is it because we don't WANT to connect with people and the Internet gives us anonymity, even while we share our feelings?

Is it a tool to promote ourselves, our business, our political stance?

I guess blogs do all of those things.

I have a writer's blog. The purpose of it is to get my name out there so, hopefully, I will be able to advance my writing career. I also hope what little I know can be used to help and encourage other writers.

What about this blog?

This blog is for the purpose of encouraging those who are believers in Jesus Christ as they live the Christian life. It is also for the purpose of inviting those who have not made such a decision to consider it.

Which blog do I prefer?

If I had to give up writing one of my blogs, it would be the writers blog. What I say there has no eternal consequences; what is said here can have.

If just one person is encouraged to keep on in their faith. If just one person would come to know the Jesus I know, it would be worth a million posts.

I pray God will use this blog. I don't know how many it will influence. My responsibility is to share, his to determine who it is shared with.

Of course, I would love to know that hundreds, even thousands read my blog. Still, I try to influence those, no matter how many, who take time out of their day to read my blog. My heart's desire is that they get something to help and encourage them to know God better. How many come to this site, I leave up to God.

Just want to be found faithful, Gloria
