I got my Mother's Day present from Jonathan, Cassie, Joshua, Joel, and Caleb. It's late because they forgot to bring it when we got together before the holiday. It was worth waiting for!
My gift was a beautiful necklace. What made it more beautiful and more special is that the purchase of the necklace helps provide women a way out of sexual exploitation from the bars of Bangkok, Thailand.
Will I treasure the gift? Of course! It was given to me by my children and grandchildren. But, I will treasure it more because of the compassionate heart of my son and daughter-in-law. I will treasure it because of what they are instilling in my grandchildren by teaching them to give with a purpose and with a heart for those less fortunate.
When I wear it, I will remember to pray for those women who are struggling to create a new life for themselves. That is a gift I can give them.
Praying I will see the needs of others and reach out to them, Gloria
