I have a calendar in my office. Each page has scriptures, along with beautiful photographs. Today it read, "You have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe" (Psm. 61:3). The picture shows a massive range of intricately carved mountains that actually appear like a fortress.
It's awesome to know we have that kind of God! No matter what we go through, he is there to protect and shield us, to encourage us, to speak words of comfort.
I find his Word, the Bible, actually is where I run when I have difficulties. I never fail to find words that sustain me, words that bring me joy in the middle of trouble, words that lift my spirit and give me courage to continue on.
I have read many books that inspired me and encouraged me. But, the Bible is different. It is alive and active. It is the very words of God left for us.
Do you need a strong tower today? Get into the Bible. Let God speak to you. Yes, to you personally. That's what his Word does.
Glad for my strong tower, Gloria
