Loving

Let's "talk" about loving. Not loving your kids, your husband, or your friends. That's easy to do. I'm talking about loving those who hate you , who do you wrong, or who are not very lovely.

Jesus told us to love our enemies. It was not a suggestion. It was a command.

He even said if we loved those who loved us, what was the big deal about that? Anybody can love people who love them! The real challenge is loving those who are not worthy of our love.

Do you think this is impossible? Humanly, yes. The old flesh wants to retaliate, get back at people for what they do to us. The unbelieving world can live that way. In fact, it is hard for them NOT to live that way. They are only mimicking their father, the devil.

Christians are to be different. The Bible says they are to be known by their love. If you don't love, you can question if you are really a believer. True believers have love as an integral part of their lives.

We may have occasional lapses where we put the old man back on and react in an unlovely way but that state will not be ongoing. Love will be the theme of our life, whether the person we love is worthy of it or not.

Let's live and love like what we really are, Christians.

Trying to live a life of love when it is not always easy, Gloria

Gloria, your heart is so big that God's love shines through bright and clear! I pray that others may understand how much you truly love them--and how much God loves them even more!
