A friend gave me one of those starter things for friendship bread. You know, the kind you have to smush for x number of days, then add more to it and share with a friend. Well, I hauled the starter with me on our trip. I was faithful to do the smushing thing every day. When we came back, I continued to smush.
On Tuesday, I was to add flour and sugar to the mix, divide it up into packs, and give to friends. Due to not reading the directions carefully and adding wrong ingredients, I wound up having to bake EIGHT loaves of bread. What a job!
I wish I had followed the directions more closely. Since I didn't, I spent the entire evening baking bread, cleaning up an extremely messy kitchen, and trying to find room for EIGHT loaves of bread in my already overcrowded refrigerator and freezer!
God has some good recipes for living. They're found in the Bible. If I follow the directions correctly, the result will be a life that honors God and blesses me. If I fail to do so, I may spend a lot of time cleaning up messes I've made in my life. I think I'd be wise to pay closer attention to these instructions than I did with my bread!
Trying to follow God's directions correctly, Gloria
P.S. We'll "talk" again on Monday.

Someone gave me a bag to smush last Friday, too! I think I already messed it up. Maybe this not following direction thing is contagious.
I guess what we can do is give the already baked bread to our friends. They might like that even better!!! :D

Just don't give me any of the bags to smush! Yikes!
