Unexpected Storms

In the area where I live the days are getting warmer. Trees are beginning to bloom. Spring is peeping around the corner. Well, the last statement applies wherever you live!

Those who love warmer weather are saying, "Ah, the dreaded winter is over. Heat! Heat! Give me heat."

Those (like me) who love colder weather are saying, "No! No! Go back spring because after you comes the dreaded heat."

I kid and tell people I, the cold lover, have made a pact with my husband, the heat lover. He can gripe all winter and I'll gripe all summer!

Although it seems warm weather is here, everyone in our area knows a snow storm or freezing weather can blow in unannounced at any time. It freezes blooming plants and destroys any chance that fruit trees will produce fruit in the summer.

It's not the end. Plants that freeze can be pruned back and will revive. Trees may not produce this summer but they will the next.

That's how life can be.

Every thing is going well. Couldn't be greater, in fact.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a storm blows into your life, leaving you cold and barren. Laughter and good times fall from your life like buds from the trees. Your life shrivels up like a frost bitten plant.

God is allowing you to go through a trial. Not because he hates you but because he loves you. And, he knows this is not the end.

One day, after the trial has accomplished its purpose, he will allow the storm to pass. Your life will again produce laughter instead of tears. You will bloom again. And, like the plants and trees, you will produce. Perhaps the fruit will even be sweeter after having gone through the trial!

Trying to accept storms as well as I accept good times, Gloria

I like the thought that our fruit may be sweeter after going through our trial!

Catherine,
I do believe, if we learn the lesson God is trying to teach us thrugh the trial, our lives ARE sweeter. Like sweet juice doesn't come out of a orange until it's squeezed, we need to be squeezed to produce a sweet life!
